Cheapass Sunglasses is one of Europe’s largest online sunglasses retailers, with 600+ models, its own designs and a clear brand promise: from €6.95, delivered tomorrow. After years on an over-modified, unstable Magento environment, it was time for a platform that keeps pace with the brand.

Large range, unstable platform
Years of custom work had made the webshop slow, fragile and hard to manage
Cheapass grew fast: in range, in volume and in customers. But the Magento platform didn’t grow with it. Years of additions, custom work and outdated extensions had created an environment on the verge of collapse. Every change was a risk, every peak period a stress test.

A clean rebuild on Hyvä, with speed as the brand promise
B2C and B2B rebuilt at the same time from controlled Magento environments
Younify started in January 2023 with a full audit. All extensions and custom layers were catalogued, evaluated and, where possible, replaced with leaner alternatives.
Then the Cheapass webshop was fully rebuilt on Magento 2 with Hyvä, alongside the rebuild of sister brand Solo Solis for the B2B market.

600+ models with intuitive filters for style, colour, shape and price. Customers find their sunglasses in two clicks, on mobile too.
Bulk and discount logic
The volume discounts (2 pairs 5%, 3 pairs 7.5%, and so on) are built into the product page and checkout as a conversion mechanism.
Wholesale flow
A separate flow for business customers and bulk orders within the B2C webshop.
Extension clean-up and custom work
Unnecessary extensions removed, outdated custom work rewritten and the environment brought back to a clean, manageable codebase.
