HOBO hifi is a Dutch hi-fi retailer with several physical stores. For high-end audio, many customers want to listen before they buy. But the website didn’t help them get to a store:
- Store information was spread over static CMS pages.
- There was no interactive map and no postcode search.
- Checkout had no link to in-store pickup.
- The webshop and the stores felt like two separate businesses.
Why a store locator matters in hi-fi
A customer about to spend serious money on an amplifier wants to hear it first. A store locator that shows the nearest branch, its opening hours and the brands it carries turns website visitors into store visits, and store visits into sales.

We implemented Amasty Store Locator, filled it with every branch and connected it to the checkout.

Ready for Hyvä
After the Hyvä migration we restyled the locator and fixed post-launch issues, such as an indexer problem and branch links that weren’t clickable.
3The result
Visitors who use the store locator convert more often than those who don’t, and click & collect is used regularly, especially for larger orders. The webshop now works as the front door to a company with real stores and real experts.

Do I need a custom module for a store locator?
Not always. For HOBO hifi, Amasty Store Locator covered the basics. The work was in configuring it, connecting it to checkout and styling it for Hyvä.
Can customers see if a product is available at a store?
Yes, when store stock is available in Magento. At HOBO hifi customers see availability when they choose a pickup branch. For Extreme Intimo we built stock per store and size on the product page.
Does a store locator work with Hyvä?
Yes, with a compatibility layer and custom styling. We restyled HOBO hifi’s locator after the Hyvä migration.
How does click & collect affect shipping costs?
Pickup orders have no shipping costs, which helps on larger orders, and they bring the customer into the store.
