1The challenge
Google uses Core Web Vitals as a ranking factor, and on mobile they decide whether a visitor stays. Wink & See had a specific problem:
- Elements on the product page moved while loading (Cumulative Layout Shift).
- On mobile, visitors tapped the wrong button as the page shifted.
- That frustration hit at the moment of the purchase decision.
- Lab scores alone didn’t show what real visitors experienced.
What is RUMvision?
RUMvision is a real user monitoring tool. Instead of a single lab test, it measures Core Web Vitals for actual visitors on their own devices and connections. That shows which pages and elements cause problems for real customers, so fixes go where they have the most impact.
2Our approach
We installed RUMvision, compiled a priority report and worked through it from the biggest gain down.
No more jumping layout
Space is reserved for images and dynamic elements, the header has a fixed height and gallery images have set dimensions.
Faster first view
Top banners load with high priority, the first gallery image shows before the carousel is ready and listing images are smaller.
Less in the way
Critical CSS is inlined, render-blocking scripts are reduced and checkout-only styles load only on the checkout.
Lazy loading
Images outside the viewport load only when they are needed.
3The result
Wink & See now scores 90+ on Core Web Vitals on both desktop and mobile. The product page stays still while it loads, so mobile visitors tap what they mean to tap. Fewer bounces, better organic visibility in a competitive optics market and a smoother experience show up in both the measurement data and customer feedback.

Isn’t Hyvä fast enough on its own?
Hyvä is a strong head start compared to Luma, but images, third-party widgets and layout choices still decide the final score. Wink & See needed targeted fixes to get every page type into the green.
What is CLS and why does it matter?
Cumulative Layout Shift measures how much a page moves while it loads. High CLS makes visitors tap the wrong element, which is especially costly on mobile.
