Business buyers think in prices excluding VAT, consumers in prices including VAT. One webshop has to serve both:
- Business customers saw consumer prices and had to calculate.
- The switch only existed in the Dutch store.
- Banners and content showed the same prices to both groups.
- Business customers needed to enter a VAT number at checkout.
B2B and B2C prices in one webshop
Consumers must always see the price they pay, including VAT. Business customers compare prices excluding VAT. A switch that changes every price in the webshop, from category page to checkout, serves both groups without a separate B2B webshop.

We built tax display into the theme itself, so every price and every banner knows whether the visitor is private or business.
A switch in every store
A private/business switch in the header of every store view, translated per language.
Every price follows
Prices on category, product, cart and checkout pages show including or excluding VAT, based on the choice.
Content that knows
A custom module makes the tax status available in every Hyvä template, so banners and content change with it.
A business checkout
A private/business option in checkout with EU VAT number validation, and default tax display per customer group.

Business buyers at Maxifleur see the prices they expect, and consumers always see what they will pay. Both are served from the same webshop, without a separate B2B store, and marketing content speaks to each group in the right terms.

?Frequently asked questions about VAT display in Magento
Can Magento show prices with and without VAT?
Magento can display both, but switching per visitor across the whole webshop, including content, needs custom work.
Do consumers ever see prices without VAT?
Only if they choose the business view themselves. The default view shows prices including VAT.
Can business VAT numbers be validated?
Yes. EU VAT numbers are validated in the checkout.
